The goal is to transform the public sector into an instrument of centralized political control, rather than one of independent democratic accountability.

Leonard Leo, a longtime leader in the Federalist Society, directs vast financial networks that operate outside public disclosure laws. These funds have been used to support policies promoting religious conservatism, the rollback of public protections, and further the consolidation of elite power.
